Der Teaser vor ein paar Tagen hatte es schon angedeutet: Halo 3 Fans dürfen sich auf eine neue Kampagne für ihren Lieblingsshooter freuen. Heute auf der Tokyo Game Show hat Microsoft das neue Kapitel nun offiziell angekündigt. Hier ein Ausschnitt des offiziellen Pressetextes:

"Sehr zur Freude der weltweiten Fangemeinde kündigte Microsoft das für Xbox 360 exklusive Halo 3: Recon der renommierten Entwickler von Bungie an. „Halo 3: Recon ist ein neues Kapitel der Halo Saga, das Spieler die Vorgeschichte der Ereignisse aus Halo 3 durch die Augen eines neuen Helden erleben lässt. Die selbstständig lauffähige Erweiterung, die im Herbst 2009 veröffentlicht wird, bereichert das mit Awards ausgezeichnete Halo 3 um neue Kampagnen und Mehrspielermodi. Die Teilnehmer der Keynote erhielten auch einen neuen Einblick in das für Xbox 360 exklusive Strategiespiel Halo Wars der Ensemble Studios. Mit der erstmaligen Präsentation der Einzelspielerkampagne erhielten die Zuschauer einen Einblick in das revolutionäre Gameplay. Schon Anfang 2009 können Fans in den Genuss von Halo Wars kommen und das Halo Universum aus einer neuen Perspektive erleben."

Damit scheint nun auch Halo Wars definitiv nicht mehr dieses Jahr zu erscheinen. Ursprünglich wollte man das Echtzeitstrategiespiel noch 2008 auf den Markt bringen.

Update: Es gibt einen neuen Trailer zu Halo 3 Recon. Nicht wundern: Er beginnt wie der bereits bekannte, ist jedoch um einiges länger. Und: Es wird der neue "Held" vorgestellt...

2. Update: Wie man einem Infotext entnehmen kann, wird "Halo 3: Recon" ein Stand-alone-Produkt und somit als seperates Spiel im Handel erhältlich sein. Hier die original englische Spielbeschreibung:
